John D. Vandevert has always been moved by the power of music and the capabilities it holds for self-expression of every kind. Because of this innate draw to music, he started his artistic journey in classical ballet training, moved onto singing, both in a children's choir format and soloist pursuits. He continued into Undergraduate studies at Westminster Choir College of Rider University in 2016, majoring in  Vocal Performance under the direction of various teachers but most notably the lyric tenor Mr. Charles Walker. At the same time he started to foster his interest in Musicology by writing a plethora of papers on a wide variety of topics. He was given the opportunity to present research-based presentations at both the 2019 and 2020 Lindsey Christiansen Art Song Festival under the direction of Dr. Sharon Mirchandani/ and Dr. Jerry J. Penna during his time at Westminster. Musically, he was involved with performances at multiple top tier venues such as The Lincoln Center, The Kennedy Center, and the Trenton War Memorial, with repertoire ranging from The Mozart Requiem in 2016-8 to Maurice Ravel's 'L'Enfant et les Sortilèges,' in 2020.
